Fair weather route shown here. Sunset is at 8.39pm so if the weather forecast is poor this route will be altered.

Forecast is good so will go with the route shown. This is a long end of season 3* ride with riders at peak fitness! We head to Ashbury via the Vale, up and over the downs to Lambourn and back via Hackpen Hill.

Aiming for an 8.30pm (ish) finish so prompt departure at 6.30pm.

LIGHTS REQUIRED in case of delays as we will be pushing the sunset envelope on this one!

A cool, breezy but bright evening greeted 14 riders for this long and tough 3* ride.

We made good progress throughout the ride with good group riding. We re-grouped where convenient and enjoyed the ascents and descents as the Sun began to make a showing.

The golden late summer Sun as we climbed from Lambourn was especially picturesque.

We were making good time so we returned via the Letcombes. Riders began to peel off as we went through Wantage and about six made it all the way back to OMH just as the Sun was setting.

Well done everyone for making it round probably what will be the hardest 3* ride of the season :)
