Description:
All-day touring ride (80-100km / 50-65 miles), lunch and possibly tea stop en route, at a riding pace of 18-22km/h (11-14mph). Not suitable for irregular riders. Climbing almost inevitable.

For those who have not had enough cycling this weekend (!) here's a 100km trip over to Hurstbourne Tarrant where we'll stop for an early lunch at The Tea Cosy and back via Lambourn (a possible second tea stop). There are a few climbs including Chain Hill and Coombe Gibbet but we will be taking it at a touring pace and waiting at the top of each.
Please text me to let me know if you are planning to come so I can advise the refreshment stops.

Funny how things turn out...

Jon had planned an extra hilly route, that I was almost glad to be bailing out early from owing to dog care duties. However, once up Chain Hill and into the West Berkshire countryside, I made the mistake of admitting that I was rather enjoying myself and quite sad to have to leave the ride. Having a crock knee, Jon suggested that he go home and cuddle a puppy, whilst I lead the ride ... and I fell for it!!!

Actually, it was a great route with a super group of riders who got up all the hills before me and didn't once moan about having to wait. Thanks for that guys.

A hard, hot day's riding but worth it for the spectacular views and light quality, though next time I'll keep my mouth shut (sweat)
